עבריתA small server for community projects
We offer community members a KVM virtual machine on Intel Xeon hardware for just NIS 10 per month. The package includes 512 MB RAM, 20 GB storage, IPv6 connectivity and a 1 Gbit/s network connection. It is a practical starting point for learning Linux and running a small service.

Freedom to learn
KVM is a free virtualization technology in Linux. A virtual machine gives you a separate operating-system environment in which to practise administration, networking and deployment. Our community offer is a paid hosting service built around that free software; “free” here describes software freedom, while the monthly hosting price is NIS 10.
Choose a workload that fits
A lean static website, a small development environment or command-line learning can fit a modest server. With 512 MB RAM, choose services carefully and monitor memory and disk space. A large database, heavy control panel or full spam-scanning stack may need more resources. The connection speed is not a promise of dedicated throughput or unlimited traffic.
Start with responsible administration
Use SSH keys, keep the operating system updated, allow only required ports and keep an independent backup. Apply firewall rules to IPv6 as well. Check that the people who need your service can reach it over IPv6; an IPv4 address is not included in the published specification.
For community members
Interested members can contact the community through the contact channels on our main website. Ask about availability, CPU allocation, installation options, traffic terms and backup arrangements before ordering. These details are not specified in this announcement.
